With Allah's Name, the Merciful Benefactor, the Merciful Redeemer,

As Salaamu Alaikum,

November 08, 2020 Suitland, Maryland,

The Ali Khan Islamic Center's Board of Trustees has voted to suspend worship services after the Jumuah Prayer on March 13, 2020 at 4831 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, Maryland for an undetermined period as we work to lessen the threat of COVID-19 Coronavirus to our members and guests.

Unfortunately we are still closed to the public.  Only a small crew of persons gather on Friday to product the khutbah stream which is streamed online at https://www.youtube.com/c/akhanicevents.  Please take advantage of the technology so that we can worship together in unison yet safely socially distanced as advised by the science.

We urge all of our members to take precautionary measures to protect yourself and your families as this virus takes its course by Allah's will.  As Muslims, patience is advised when facing fear, adversity and periods of panic, as Americans we are bound by civic duty to do all we can to work with others for the best possible outcome for all people.

After a period we will reassess the situation and make a public announcement of plans to reopen our Masjid.  Please check back on this website for further news.

Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant, grateful and appreciative.  - Sura Ibrahim, Ayat 5

May Allah help us get through this together.

As Salaamu Alaikum, Peace Be Upon You.
